About our work

New Perimeter is collaborating with The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group) to build the capacity of public sector lawyers from TDB Group member states across Africa.  An international team of DLA Piper lawyers delivered training on negotiating international transactions to public sector lawyers from 23 different African countries who are involved in negotiating and reviewing contracts related to natural resources on behalf of their governments.

Key facts

  • The interactive training was conducted with a combination of interactive lectures and simulated negotiations.
  • The training explored substantive issues involved in joint venture agreements, supply agreements and technology license agreements, as well as issues related to the political, social and economic context in which the agreements are negotiated. 
  • Established in 1985, TDB Group is an investment-grade African regional development finance group, with the mandate to finance and foster trade, regional economic integration and sustainable development.
