In conversation with Ileana Blanco

1. What inspired you during the project?

I was most inspired by the DLA Piper team.  Everyone worked together and supported each other to reach our primary goal of helping the Nepali women lawyers advance in their training, careers, and self-confidence.  Since the DLA lawyers spent a great deal of time preparing before the trip, their presentations were very well delivered and received by the participants

2. What was the most fulfilling aspect of the work?

The most fulfilling aspect of the work was witnessing the development of the participants both in their substantive knowledge and skills.  It was a privilege to help those incredibly smart and hardworking Nepali women lawyers enhance their legal abilities.  I was filled with great hope that they would apply what they learned from the training to advance their legal careers and, equally as important, help their colleagues to succeed.  We saw evidence that the prior years’ training sessions had, indeed, accomplished those goals

3. What one word describes your trip?

Optimism
