Underscoring New Perimeter’s commitment to racial justice8 July 2020
In the wake of the senseless deaths of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and unfortunately many others in the United States and elsewhere, DLA Piper categorically and unequivocally condemns systemic racism. The firm is committed to making justice systems more fair and equitable for everyone. We will continue and expand upon our pro bono work and continue to pursue ways where we can make an immediate difference in our respective communities.
DLA Piper is proud to join more than 125 law firms across the country to participate in the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), which will work with legal services organizations to collectively devote substantial pro bono resources to further racial justice and address systemic racism. LFAA’s mission is to leverage the platforms and resources of law firms and their leaders, working with legal services organizations that have historically supported those communities and worked to advance civil rights causes, to amplify the voices of communities of color and use the law as a vehicle for change to promote racial equity.
We are committed to using our legal skills, and the immense resources of our firm and its people, to fight injustice. This includes our long-term commitment to New Perimeter and its mission to provide pro bono legal assistance in under-served regions around the world to support access to justice, social and economic development, and sound legal institutions as well as its aim to support women’s advancement. New Perimeter commits to continuing and deepening its efforts help create a more just world for all.
