About our work

New Perimeter conducted a country-wide audit of intellectual property related to Colombian agricultural products. The project encouraged increased export readiness and income for Colombia from the application of enhanced IP legal structures and protections for Colombian agricultural products. Lawyers traveled to Bogota to conduct research and interview government officials, agricultural researchers, trade organizations and farmers to identify agricultural products that should be protected through IP mechanisms.

Key deliverables

  • Researched and drafted a report that identified agricultural products which should be protected through IP mechanisms

Key facts

  • Lawyers conducted onsite research and interviewed government officials, agricultural researchers and trade organizations. The final report identified benefits and challenges of securing IP protection for agricultural products and will be a foundation for the country to educate its farmers, scientists and researchers in understanding the benefits of IP and how it contributes to economic growth.
