New PerimeterInternational Pro Bono Initiative

our mission

New Perimeter is a wholly integrated non-profit affiliate of DLA Piper established to provide pro bono legal support for projects of global concern.  Through New Perimeter, lawyers from DLA Piper's offices around the globe  provide legal assistance on projects addressing issues including health care, hunger, economic development, law reform and human rights.

DLA Piper has allocated 13,000 attorney hours per year to New Perimeter, which has translated into $6 million in donated legal services on a yearly basis.

New Perimeter gives DLA Piper lawyers the chance to take part in challenging projects such as helping to draft legislation creating the judicial system in Kosovo; developing compliance systems for a nonprofit that fights HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria around the world; developing a worldwide system of food banks; and setting up a human rights center in South Africa.

The mission of New Perimeter is to provide DLA Piper with a more strategic approach to pro bono work and to bring our lawyers' expertise to bear on some of the world's most pressing problems.

"The whole of what
New Perimeter has
been established to
do is unique."
