Microfinance CEO Working Group - Press Release: Microfinance Leaders Offer Model Law Resource for Financial Consumer Protection

With the assistance of New Perimeter, the Microfinance CEO Working Group published Client Protection Principles: Model Law and Commentary for Financial Consumer Protection, which provides a framework of suggested legislation for financial consumer protection in the microfinance and broader financial inclusion industry. New Perimeter worked in partnership with in-house counsels from member organizations to develop a legal framework based on the Smart Campaign’s Client Protection Principles of transparency, fair and respectful treatment, privacy and prevention of over-indebtedness.
